It's one of my fic-reading missions to some day catch up on "Through a Glass, Lightly," because I am very intrigued by the concept and if it's anything like your other work, I know it will be made of pure unadulterated awesome. You make me giggle, you make me grin and you make me nod my head in complete agreement on so many different occasions, and I'm pleased as punch to have you on my f-list!

iluvworms - From high school to MASH to fantasies to wacky brain conversations and beyond, where shall I begin? ;) Gen, you have consistently been one of the most positive aspects of and influences on my life since we met in 2001. I know I can always count on you to make me laugh when I've had a crappy day, to make me smile with the pictures and YouTube vids you dig up, and to make me wonder exactly how much carpet we were smoking when I look back over our IM conversations! You are one of my best friends, you are my confidante, you are my partner in crime and my cheerleader, and I love you so very much. Don't ever get any more sane, k? :D

Juuuuuuuust sneaking in at the deadline, hehehe. I seem to be doing that a lot lately. ;) Anyway, I'd like to wish a very happy birthday to my good friend Jenny, aka queen_meep! We first met as jedi_news editors, but over time we have come to share so much more - ships (Anakin/Padmé!); opinions (Anakin is awesome and should not in ANY way be subtracted from Star Wars, since that makes it not SW anymore!); certain real life circumstances and a lot of personal stuff. But through all of that we have become stronger, and I feel so very lucky to have a lovely lady like yourself on my friends list. ♥ ♥ ♥ *hugs*

More than that, though, you have become a true friend to me outside of fandom, Deborah, and I cannot possibly express in words how much that means to me. I've shared a lot of things with you that very few other folks know, and have come to greatly appreciate your thoughtful analysis and kind words. I also love being able to debate matters with you in a mature way - which, again, is not something offered by just anybody.

I met jedisakora through my Star Wars icon stillness community and we share our love of pets, love of SW and love of Obi-Wan Kenobi (and hatred of the way Karen Traviss portrayed him in the TCW novelization, heh). She is an awesome person and I feel so privileged to have her on my f-list!

And riko. Ah, yes, riko. After surviving four years of journalism, you and I could both survive ANYTHING, right? One of the memories I think I'll most treasure - and that still makes me giggle even a year after it happened - is you and I racing around Capital News Online on the day of the BSG 4.0 season premiere and somehow managing to inject "WE'RE GOING THE WRONG WAY" into every conversation we had. Hehehe. The rest of the class must have thought us insane, but, eh. It was so much fun, and I miss those days a lot, but I've really enjoyed keeping up with you through our respective journals! And yes, your BSG ship beat out mine by a country mile. Sigh. ;)

As I recall, we first met through that old Padmé journal I used to keep and roleplay on with Katie (which I won't even look at now because the writing and RPing were so outlandish and OOC, heh) and you were one of my very first - if not THE very first - Star Wars friends. Now we can share our squee over Anakin/Padmé, our strong dislike (haha) of Dormékin shippers and our love of cute kitty-cats! And you are the only person for whom I would ever consider writing the other A/P, as in Anakin/Palpatine. ;)

- Assignment from hell is finally DONE, which is a huge relief. It was for Women's History and involved reading a supremely boring book and writing a supremely boring response to a supremely boring set of questions. I zoned out through much of the first and second periods of the hockey game to finish it, so those of you who read Bleed Black & Red (all ... 1.5 of you, maybe? LOL) will have to forgive me if my game review's a bit scanty. They played well tonight though, which is one of the reasons I felt justified in only giving it half my attention. So glad to get the assignment off my back, too, so I can hack through the rest of the items on my to-do list. Next up: STUFF FOR OVOC!!!!!!!!! Holy shit, I am so behind on dealing with OVOC. Heh. *facepalm*

- TIS is yet another concern. Despite having at LEAST two or three chapters sitting around on my hard drive, I haven't made Katie's corrections and have certainly neglected to post them. To those of you following the fic, I can only offer my sincere apologies and promises that I'll catch up probably this weekend at the latest. The Assignment from Hell has been eating my brain the past number of days, and my body hasn't really helped either, but I did get some good work done on TIS today, and in all likelihood will probably end up posting five or six chapters at once. Heh.

- I've got a whoooooole buncha links I've been meaning to spam you guys with, but as it's almost ten-thirty and I have to start on Wednesday night's crop of fandom newsletters, I don't think I'll have time tonight. Yet another thing to put off until tomorrow, sigh.

- I'm really impressed with how well you guys did on the Music Meme! When I did it before on my other journal I was used to more blanks than guesses, but as of this posting all but seven songs were guessed correctly! And then I made him look at battlestarbook and he almost fell off the couch again laughing his ass off. You rock, Tara!!!

A very Merry Christmas to those of you on my f-list celebrating today! I hope your days have all been amazing thus far!

Believe it or not, my fingers are actually sore from opening presents, heh. My family went a bit crazy - got me 23 gifts in total, and that's not even counting things from the extended family that's supposed to arrive later today. Lots of awesome fandom stuff, to be sure: I got Harry, A History (written by the creator of The Leaky Cauldron), Twilight: The Unauthorized Guide to the Series, The Life and Legend of Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Carrie Fisher's Wishful Drinking. And that's just the books! My DVD gifts include the Clone Wars movie, Mamma Mia!, and the first Robot Chicken Star Wars. Brother and I are watching TCW right now, and I'm noticing all kinds of stuff I didn't pick up when we originally saw it in the theatres.

HAHAHA OBI-WAN JUST SAID "MY DARLING" - PERSONAL CANON, BITCHES!

Of course, I'm not only in a receiving mood - I also want to give, which is why I'll be finishing off and posting the gift fics I owe you guys over the course of today. I'm figuring on one fic for each of my OTPs (Obi-Wan/Padmé, Anakin/Padmé, Anakin/Obi-Wan, Adama/Roslin, Lee/Kara, Sam/Kara), so most of you should find something to make you happy. All fics will be posted to jedionpaper, and I'll do up a big link post with all the pertinent titles, summaries etc. Watch for that later today!
