I have once again committed fic! Whee! Basically, I have done nothing but write since I posted my last f-locked entry, and it has helped. A lot. I am so grateful to Insanity Underrated for pulling me out of this latest funk. It sounds so silly to be dependent on a FIC like this, but that's the way it is. Anyway, I have not one but TWO chapters for you guys today. Enjoy!

Title: Insanity Underrated
Author: [info]amidala_thrace
Previous Chapters: Can be read here.
Characters/Pairings: Kara/Lee, some Kara/Sam (both chapters are mainly Kara and the Cylons)
Word Count: 1,838 and 3,030 respectively
Spoilers: Through S2's "The Farm"
Rating: PG-13 for some disturbing themes
Summary: After getting shot in a skirmish, Kara lands in an old hospital where the doctors are not what they appear to be ... and learns something shocking about herself.
Author's Notes: In the second chapter, I introduce what will come to be a major plot point in this fic, and I have to say I'm quite nervous about it! It's been in the outline from the beginning, though, and I don't see any other way of saying what I want to say in this fic without it. I just hope you guys will trust me with it, to take the characters where they have to go while still keeping them in-character. :) Enjoy!

Well, hello there, Star Wars muse! Long time no see. I mean, really. Loooooooooooong time no see! Where have you been? What's that? On vacation in Hawaii?!?!?! How dare you go to Hawaii and leave the rest of us stranded here all crappy summer! Oh. That's right. I'd better be nice to you or else you'll just leave again.

*rolls out red carpet* *hands drink and orders pizza* *props muse's feet on pillows and gets huge fan thing and stands there fanning muse*

Oh, Star Wars muse, we are so glad you've decided to come back from vacation! *muttergrumble* stupid little creepy muse Please present us with a To Ignite the Stars update!

*ahem* Yes. Sorry, guys. I've recovered a bit of my ability to write SW, specifically TIS, and so I bring you a TIS chapter. I'm starting out slow here, hoping the muse doesn't decide it would rather be somewhere else again. I apologize for taking so long with this! Please enjoy.

Title: An Unexpected Friend
Author: [info]amidala_thrace
Previous Chapters: Can be read here.
Characters/Pairings: Obi-Wan/Padmé, Luke, Leia, others
Word Count: 4,736
Rating: PG-13
Summary: “I can’t believe this,” Obi-Wan muttered. “Of all the places to run into you —”
Author's Notes: Guys, I am so, so sorry for leaving you all with that terrible cliffhanger for so long. It was in no way part of my plan to do so, and I am almost sure that there won't be such a long gap between chapters this time. As I told my BSG readers, July and August were really rough months for me personally and my writing suffered as a result. For those of you who know me, I think you will understand why this particular chapter and those to come were so difficult to write. However, I would never abandon this fic, and it's a credit to the hold that it has on me that I don't think I could ever abandon it, even despite the real life factors. And yes, I have a new username and a new TIS icon, but it's still me, and the fic is still the same. :) I'm really pleased with some of the things I was able to do in this chapter, and I hope you'll enjoy.

As promised. *grins* Will crosspost to communities and such tomorrow when I'm not falling over with exhaustion. Heh.

Title: Insanity Underrated
Author: [info]amidala_thrace
Previous Chapters: Can be read here.
Characters/Pairings: Lee/Kara, others mentioned
Word Count: 2,908
Spoilers: Through S1's "Colonial Day" for this chapter
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Dammit, he wasn’t going to fall for this again. And yet …
Author's Notes: Yeah, I really fail at updating (and at answering reviews) on time, but I'm hoping to rectify both of those things over the next month or so. School ate my brain for awhile there, what with it being my graduating year, and my muse also went on an extended and unscheduled vacation. Heh. But, as proof that I still do plan to take this fic places, I've come back to it, and I'd like to have the S1 arc finished by the middle of next week. We'll see how good I am at actually, you know, doing that. This chapter is again mainly from Lee's perspective, and the dialogue at the end will be familiar (it's from "Colonial Day"). It might seem mostly like a bridge chapter, and it sort of is, but some important things happen which will set up events for future chapters. Enjoy!

My apologies for the lateness on this, TIS readers! As you may know, this past week and today was ... well, not exactly conducive to me coding and posting fic. Heh.

Title: The Brave One
Author: [info]amidala_thrace
Previous Chapters: Can be read here.
Characters/Pairings: Obi-Wan/Padmé, Vader
Word Count: 4,116
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Vader could not take on Sidious alone, but it would be possible — just possible — if he had the help of two able-bodied youngsters.
Author's Notes: This is being posted a little later than I'd hoped, but last week was a busy one for me real life-wise - yay exams, or actually NOT - and so fanfiction was not foremost in my mind. Heh. But anyway, we get a little more of Vader in this chapter (expect him and his influence to show up more and more frequently throughout this plot arc), which I as a writer was happy with because I simply adore writing him. But there's also some Obi-Wan/Padmé fluff, so those of you who came for that will hopefully not be disappointed. :) If all goes well for me, Chapter 46 should post tomorrow.

So, here's the first batch of the five million TIS chapters I mentioned earlier today. ;) There's six in total to be posted but I'm putting up three today and three tomorrow, as I don't want to eat your f-lists. *grin* I'll try not to let it go this long between updates again!

Title: To Tell the Truth
Author: [info]amidala_thrace
Fandom and Pairing: Star Wars, Anakin/Padmé
Written For: [info]bigthingsinlife
Prompt: #9 First fight with fiancé
Word Count: 1,557
Rating: PG-13 for some fake swearing
Summary: His refusal to see sense infuriates Padmé to the point of shouting.
Author's Notes: Okay, I'm not going to declare my SW muse as having returned, since it seems like every time I do that, the bugger promptly disappears again. ;) However, it does seem that I'm able to be at least partially productive with this new Padmé claim. This is another fic that I wrote in about an hour, sitting in my hotel room this evening after FanExpo. Was able to get it beta'd about five minutes after finishing; it's awfully handy when your beta is right in the same room with you, heh. I seem to be churning out a ton of Anakin/Padmé marriage-related stuff lately, for whatever reason. Oh, and as for the ending - please don't shoot me! There will be smut later, I promise. :D

Title: Hellfire
Previous Chapters: Can be read here.
Characters: Obi-Wan, Padmé, Anakin
Word Count: 5,172
Rating: PG-13 - angst, angst and more angst
Summary: It was the worst moment of his life.
Author's Notes: After I'd put the finishing touches on this chapter, I literally had to leave my apartment, go outside and sit under a tree, just trying to clear my mind of the emotional impact on the characters and the emotional impact on me the writer, having to get all of this down. Yes, it's fanfiction, and so perhaps it's silly of me to get so intensely involved. But I can't help it; that's how I write. These characters are as real to me as any other actual person, so it's damned hard to put them in these types of situations. At least the worst is (sort of) over.

Title: The Sound of One Hand Clapping
Previous Chapters: Can be read here.
Fandom and Pairing: Battlestar Galactica, Lee/Kara with mentions of Lee/Dee, Sam/Kara and Zak/Kara
Status: Complete. One chapter will be posted per day.
Word Count: 2,744 this chapter
Rating: PG-13 this chapter (mature themes)
Spoilers: This fic contains spoilers through S3's "Maelstrom."
Summary: It’s different, darker, all of her demons deciding at once that this is an appropriate time to make an appearance. No doubt Lee’s suspicion is correct, and the morpha is behind it, but that doesn’t make it any easier to take. She can’t tell herself that in the dream; all she can do is watch as the past parades across her field of vision, berating her for both real and imagined sins.
Author's Notes: This was a tough chapter to write, but I think it's an important one nevertheless. Full disclosure: the "mature themes" mainly refers to an appearance by Kara's mother, and all the attendant issues there, plus a reexamination of the New Caprica incidents. As always, more extensive author's notes can be found here.

Okay, so the Evil Migraine From Hell(tm) might have prevented me from writing any more fics for or participating in OVOC, and it may be severely restricting my ability to spell and focus at the moment, but I'm sure not going to let it stop me putting up another chapter of a certain fic that really should've been posted a week ago. *cough* The beta'd version of this has been sitting in my inbox since this morning, but I only just now came to the comp to post and take care of a few other things. Sorry about the delay! I'll reply to comments and take care of any goofy formatting tomorrow - right now my priority is just getting this up for y'all to read. Let me know if you find any mistakes.

Title: Dreamweaver
Fandom/Pairing: Star Wars, Obi-Wan/Padmé
Previous Chapters: Can be read here.
Characters: Obi-Wan, Padmé, Anakin
Word Count: 4,760
Rating: PG-13
Summary: He had fought the war for moments like this. Moments when he could slip into Padmé's apartment as Coruscant's orbital mirrors rotated to their evening setting and she stood on her balcony.
Author's Notes: And so it begins. *sigh* My muse is starting to balk at writing this, mainly, I think, because it knows exactly what's coming. Stupid, stupid, stupid Palpatine. Get your whacking materials (baseball bats, canes, sticks, assorted furniture) ready, because you'll soon need them. We're still into the Obi-Wan/Padmé fluff here, but this is Revenge of the Sith, after all. You know it can't be happy and idyllic for long.

Title: Reconciliation
Fandom/Pairing: Star Wars/Obidala (Obi-Wan Kenobi/Padmé Amidala)
Previous Chapters: Can be read here.
Characters: Obi-Wan, Padmé, Sola, Ruwee, Jobal
Word Count: 4,579
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Obi-Wan and Padmé resume their relationship when he returns from fighting the war, and Padmé journeys to Naboo to visit her family. Takes place approximately 1 year after the start of the Clone Wars.
Author's Notes: And up goes another chapter! To be honest, I barely noticed writing this one because of how light and fluffy most of it is. A great improvement over the last few chapters, to be sure! The time jump in the beginning was a bit of a stretch for me, but due to the nature of this fic, it's unfortunately required. Hopefully it won't be too jarring for you guys. XD I had a difficult time with the latter half, because although my muse insists that these types of chapters are necessary, it balks at actually writing them. *facepalm* My muse is weird. Anyway, I was hoping to get this posted last night, but my email decided not to deliver the beta'd chapter until this morning, so I was forced (heh) to wait until my coffee break. Oh well, at least it'll get done before class tonight. Ooh, and I almost forgot! Free internet cookies to the first person to spot the Harry Potter reference in this chapter. XD

Title: Requiem
Fandom/Pairing: Star Wars/Obidala
Previous Chapters: Can be read here.
Characters: Obi-Wan, Padmé, Anakin
Word Count: 5,980
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Padmé recovers physically from the miscarriage, but as she and Obi-Wan find out, healing mentally can be much more difficult.
Author's Notes: I'd be lying if I said writing this chapter was fun, but unfortunately it had to be done. "Death is a natural part of life," as Yoda would say. I did a lot of research on miscarriage and the psychological effects it can have on women and men to write this, and so I hope it's an accurate portrayal. (If there's one thing I hate about some fics, it's authors who quite clearly have not done any research before writing about certain topics. So I definitely didn't want to activate one of my own pet peeves. XD) I also listened to some pretty sad music while writing the last little bit, and I think it helped. Rest assured that from now on, happy stuff will mostly be the norm, although all bets are off when it comes to the events of Revenge of the Sith. That'll be a little while, though.

Title: The Paths We Choose
Fandom/Pairing: Star Wars/Obidala
Characters: Obi-Wan, Padmé, Anakin
Word Count: 5,802
Rating: PG-13 - there's some mature themes, but that's about it.
Summary: Obi-Wan and Anakin return from their first mission in the Clone Wars, and Obi-Wan has a decision to make with Padmé.
Author's Notes: I actually didn't expect to end this chapter where it finished, but there you go. My muse got to the end of the last sentence and went, "Right, that's it, this is a good place to break off, and hey! You can give those nice people waiting to read Chapter 12 an update!" And so I can. XD By the way, in case you're wondering about Padmé lying on the cold floor and saying it helps her nausea - that comes direct from Katie, who insists that during her most serious bouts of "morning" sickness when she was pregnant with my goddaughters, her cheek coming into contact with a cool tile floor was the only thing that helped. Strange, huh? But she swears it's so. Not much else to say about the chapter itself, except that this didn't turn out to be the sad chapter, or the chapter in which I kick my muse into submission ... that's coming up next time, alas. *le sigh* The astute among you may be able to guess what's happening from the ending, however. *whacks muse* *whacks and whacks and whacks*

Title: Boundaries Established
Fandom: Star Wars
Characters: Padmé, Anakin, mentions of Obi-Wan (this one's mainly Anakin/Padmé interaction)
Word Count: 4,898
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Padmé and Anakin arrive in the Lake Country, go on a picnic, and have a fireside chat.
Author's Notes: I had a hell of a time with this chapter, for some reason that I haven't yet figured out. It took me about seven days just to write it, which is definitely longer than I would have preferred it to be, and then it was further delayed by my beta reader/best friend Katie's wedding on Saturday. Congrats, hun! *hugs* I had emailed it to her Saturday to beta, but she only just, and understandably, returned it to me last night. Seems like I always say I'll try to be prompt with the next chapter and then it gets later and later and later. *sigh* I will try my utmost, and I do mean my utmost, to do better with Chapter 8, but I won't make promises since I'll be significantly occupied with the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows this weekend. As for this chapter? Well, it's mainly Anakin/Padmé interaction with Obidala-type twists. I feel like I had to cram a lot in here, and it shows in the word count -- I can't believe I wrote almost 5,000 words! -- but there are several scenes in here that are crucial to later goings-on, so I had to put them somewhere. And it didn't seem to make sense to break them up and give them separate chapters. So, you get one gigantic Chapter 7. Enjoy!

Fandom: Star Wars

Prompt: #020 Write
Characters: Obi-Wan. Padmé is mentioned.
Word Count: 1,018
Rating: G, PG-13 towards the end if you read it a certain way *cough*
Summary: Obi-Wan writes a love letter.
Author’s Notes: Well, with a prompt like Write, what else could I do? ;) The title comes from a poem I had to read in grade 9 entitled Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Blackbird. I thought it was fitting for this kind of a fic. Obi-Wan does indeed find eleven ways to write the letter. Count ’em up!

Title: Rescued Love
Fandom: Star Wars
Written For: [info]fanfic50
Prompt: #010 Blood
Characters: Obi-Wan, Padmé, C3PO
Word Count: 3,162
Rating: PG-13 for brief violence and human casualty-ness.
Summary: Obi-Wan is critically injured on a mission. Who will be there to rescue him?
Author’s Notes: So for some time I’ve been wanting to write something in which either Padmé or Obi-Wan is lost/injured and the other rescues them. This is what worked its way out, from that desire. No madhawtsex scene, which was kind of disappointing to my subconscious, but whatever. Also of note: I’m not exactly sure where my subconscious believes Anakin is during these kinds of fics. He just happens to, er, conveniently not be there. *cough* It’s a definite possibility that my subconscious detests Anakin and is trying to pretend he doesn’t exist. Or that it’s trying to make up for all the Anakin/Padmé fics it churned out earlier. Whatever, just ignore it. My first fic for [info]fanfic50, I’m happy with it!

Title: The Foot
Fandom: Star Wars
Written For: [info]swficchallenge
Prompt: Miracles. Must feature Anakin/Padmé or Luke/Leia.
Characters: Anakin, Padmé. Luke and Leia are technically there too, though not shown.
Word Count: 386
Rating: G, PG-13 towards the end for a mention of sex.
Summary: Anakin “sees” his unborn child for the first time.
Author’s Notes: I don’t like this one as much as some of the other stuff I’ve written, feeling that it’s a bit heavy on clichés and light on substance. But I’m posting it anyway because really it isn’t that bad. Also, I found it cute that I was able to incorporate both Anakin/Padmé and Luke/Leia -- which I didn't even notice I'd done until the end.
