I just figured that since I promised this to you guys like ... a week ago, I might want to, you know, perhaps put it up? Maybe? Yeah. Hehehe. The good news is that since I am now officially DONE with university (yay Liz!), updates will hopefully come a LOT more frequently. I'm already halfway done with Chapter 48, and Chapter 47 is ready, but I've been putting off posting them because, as xkatie_kittenx can attest, a cliffhanger would be a VERY BAD THING right now. Heh. But the whole arc should go up relatively soon. This particular chapter is mostly fluff, though it does contain allusions to past torture, bodily harm and undignified behaviour, so be on your guard if you are in any way squicked by that kind of thing.

Author's Notes: So, it's a week later than I said it'd be, but ... eh. Real life sucks sometimes, basically. I ended up breaking this one off a little sooner than I'd originally intended to, because a scene snuck in there at the end that was sort of a surprise to me and the chapter was already over 5,000 words, so some material will have to be saved for next time. TIS is now 30 chapters long, which is more than a little frightening, believe me! It's become the longest chaptered thing I've ever written, and to say that's an accomplishment is an understatement since up to now, I've never stuck with any one project for this length of time. Go me, I guess!

Author's Notes: Okay, I blame this one entirely on xkatie_kittenx. ENTIRELY. (Hey, I don't call Katie my enabler for nothing. Heh.) It isn't like I don't already have 5,000 writing projects competing for my attention, but noooooo, she had to bring up the music/drabble meme and then pester me constantly until I wrote for it. Siiiiiigh. Anyway, this is basically a series of drabbles that I'm pretending are interconnected - they are, kinda - based on a music/drabble meme seen various places. The idea is to randomly shuffle the music on your iPod or mp3 player and write a drabble for the first ten songs that come up. Once the song is over, you must move on to the next - no going back, no writing after the song is over. We see mostly TIS-verse Obidala here, although again the drabbles are general enough to apply to all aspects of the pairing. Unbeta'd and unedited, unless running them through the spellcheck/grammar check counts, and I don't think it does. ;) Songs used are listed at the end.

Author’s Notes: Okay, I’ll admit it. I wrote another songfic. *hangs head in shame* I had originally intended this for my 50scenes claim, but before long I realized that a) it was going to be way too long for 50scenes and b) it was going to be a songfic, so I decided it was more appropriate for my claim at fanfic50. Luckily I was able to find another prompt that I thought would fit. A few words about the song now, because I think it’s crucial to understanding the intent behind this fic. The song is called Your Laker’s Back In Town, and it’s written and sung by Stan Rogers, one of my favourite Canadian folk singers. I’ll include the full lyrics after the fic. The song talks about the situation once faced by many wives in towns along the Great Lakes, in that their husbands would be away for many weeks fishing and so they wouldn’t get to see them very often. Some of these women eventually found solace, companionship and love in other men who didn’t fish. It was adultery, but folks generally turned a blind eye because they understood the women were lonely and were only substituting the men for their husbands. When the husbands (the “lakers” referenced in the song) returned to shore, their wives would immediately come back to them and not see the other men until the next fishing trip. I thought a laker would be an apt description of Anakin – he’s always off on some distant planet fighting the Clone Wars – and therefore, it wouldn’t be inconceivable that Padmé would turn to another man for comfort while he was away. Of course, being that this claim is Obidala, that man had to be Obi-Wan. And this is the cute little yarn that resulted. Enjoy!

One of the problems was that I got stuck for awhile on one particular part, and couldn’t figure out what should happen next. Of course, school interfered with this – a lot – and exams didn’t help. But I’ll stop ranting now. Again, notes about AU-ness and timelines (based on naboosenator) apply here. This fic was partially provoked by a comment lealynnkenobi made to me on a previous fic, about wanting to see the actual delivery.
