Okay. So. I want to make something very clear up front: this is totally, completely and entirely viva_lla_gloria's fault. She posted the drabble request meme on her journal, I was perusing my f-list, I saw it, I commented to request something from her, and so I am now bound by the Meme Gods to do the precise same thing lest they smite me! 'Cause they do so love to smite, y'know. ;)

I am, however, making a couple of significant alterations to the original. If I get smited for that, well, then I guess I get smited. Yaaaaaay masochism!

The first fifteen people to comment in this post get to request a drabble from me. You don't have to repost this in your LJ if you don't want to - just be sure to read the guidelines/caveats below. :)

The aforementioned guidelines/caveats:

1) Fifteen slots rather than the original ten. Because I am generous like that. :D

2) Despite the "drabble" moniker, I reserve the right to transform the drabbles into ficlets depending upon the prompt and the vagaries of my muse. In fact, they probably will be ficlets, since I SUCK at the 100-word-limit thing.

3) My two main fandoms, as most of you probably know, are Star Wars and Battlestar Galactica (2003). Anything else I'd be kinda twitchy about writing, not to mention inexperienced.

4) Things I will not write. Every writer has them, and I am no exception. Anything involving marital infidelity and non-consensual sex I am absolutely not comfortable with, for personal reasons. Similarly, though I'm pretty equal-opportunity when it comes to most BSG pairings, I can't abide Kara/Leoben and Tigh/Caprica Six in a romantic capacity (those damn personal reasons again). Sorry, guys. I'd also shy away from requesting BSG slash, but only because I'm really inexperienced at it. Heh. No real issues with most SW pairings - aside from Qui/Obi, which I'm just sort of "eh" about. I'll say this as well: suggest Dormékin, and I WILL shoot you. Yes. Through your computer screen. With my invisible non-existent gun.

5) Slash is perfectly acceptable set in the SW 'verse.

6) I will write all ratings, from G (K) to NC-17 (MA).

7) If you request Obi-Wan/Padmé - totally legit, by the way - it may be set in the TIS universe, as my brain seems to be incapable of placing O/P in any other context at the moment. Heh.

All drabbles/ficlets will be posted to jedionpaper and linked back here. Just basically my way of keeping things tidy, and there's no need to worry about missing any of them since I'll also comment back to you when your drabble has been posted.

Author's Notes: Drabble written for emavalexis, as part of the drabble request meme. :) (By the way, I still have a few spots left open, so if you'd like to make a request, feel free!) This turned out a bit differently than my original idea, and unfortunately Kara doesn't have a direct role, but I hope this appeals nonetheless! It was a lot of fun getting inside Six's head, which is a place I don't often get to go.

I promised gizzi1213 I'd repost this if she wrote lealynnkenobi and I an Obidala drabble, so this is me keeping up my end of the bargain. ;) Besides, I don't often do short stuff like this, so here's an opportunity for me to challenge myself as a writer.

I will write a drabble for the first TEN commenters to request one. In return, they have to post this in their journal.

Drabbles will be at least 100 words in length, although if I'm writing them they'll probably be at least slightly more, 'cause I fail at short. Heh.

I win at overcommitting myself. Most of you probably know that. And just recently, my muse, already quite addled with holiday fic commitments, decided to up the ante some more. It was spurred on to do so by Katie, though, so perhaps I shouldn't place the blame entirely upon my muse. XD

This commitment, though, has to do with you guys, my f-list, and the holidays. And fanfiction, of course. If you're on my friends list, comment with up to:

3 fic requests in 3 fandoms I'm familiar with (or you can go all one fandom, I'm not picky)

"Fandom" applies to pairings, characters or just straight fandoms. So you could request three Star Wars fics, three Obi-Wan/Padmé fics, or three Padmé fics, to name a few examples. (Although if you're requesting Star Wars, you might want to specify which pairing you'd prefer, because otherwise your fic is liable to end up as Obidala. XD) The 3 fandoms thing is just to give me a bit of variation to work with so your fic ends up being somewhat of a surprise. Your fic can be holiday-oriented or not, whatever you'd prefer.

There are basically no limits here, since these are intended as gifts for you guys. I'll write Obi-Wan/Anakin, Obi-Wan/Padmé, Anakin/Padmé, Han/Leia, Luke/Han, slash, het, and all ratings. You just need to specify a few things you'd like, and I'll provide. I'll write in other fandoms too - such as Harry Potter - but the pairings I'm willing to do are a little more limited. (Harry/Ginny, Ron/Hermione and Dumbledore/McGonagall are the chief ones I'm thinking of.)

Author’s Notes: Yeah … still not exactly sure where this came from. I had intended to write it quite seriously, and was sort of sticking to that principle, and as a result wasn’t getting anything out of myself I could actually use. I had a starting paragraph (what we journalism geeks call a “lead”) but not a whole lot else. Then something happened – I decided to let myself go, let the fic take me whither it would. And this is the result. I’m far happier with it than I probably would’ve been with a so-called “serious” fic. I love it when I can just totally dissect my writing process like this. *grins*

Take two ... I was typing a post earlier, but then LJ decided to go all fussy and delete it. Let's try again.

I haven't had much time or energy or inclination for writing lately. I just can't seem to get into it either. Oftentimes I've come home at night and wanted to sit down and finish some of my fanfic, but haven't had the energy. Academia has also been weighty of late - too many papers and essays and work stupidity. I pulled an all-nighter Monday, which pretty much killed the writing muse altogether.

Nevertheless, I will get back on the horse sooner or later. Starting with those requests. I haven't forgotten them and I WILL get to them, it's just a question of time, and inspiration. I write what my muse wants me to write, and sometimes all it wants to churn out is Star Wars fics. That's fine. It doesn't mean I won't fill the requests I've been promising to fill. It does mean that your continued patience is appreciated, for those of you whose requests I haven't gotten to yet. :)

You may notice advertisements now appearing on my journal -- this is because I've chosen to try out the Plus Account level for a few days and see how it works. If I don't like it I'll go back to Basic, but the main thing I like about Plus is more userpics. It's very nice. Also, I've decided to unlock all the f-locked posts. I don't really feel comfortable with making locked posts on a writing journal. I figure all of you are mature enough to handle the content here, and for any passers-by, well, you'd better be (and if you aren't, I'm going to have a little chat with your parents about closely supervising your internet usage!). We're all adults here ... in age if not necessarily in mentality.

Lastly, but certainly not leastly, I'm going to be participating in some of the challenges in theatrical_muse. In this community, you basically choose a muse, usually a character from a particular fandom, and write a weekly challenge from their point of view. I haven't officially joined this community, nor have I been assigned any muses. This is partially because most of the muses I would want are taken.

So instead, I am going to unofficially participate. Each week I'll write a challenge from the point of view of a muse from each of my fandoms. My muses are:

- Padmé Amidala (Star Wars)
- Claire Fisher (Six Feet Under)
- Ginny Weasley (Harry Potter)
- Nessarose Thropp (Wicked)

My unofficial muse is Obi-Wan, so be aware that he may show up from time to time. ;)

Well, last week I posted "Realizations" to swficchallenge and the reaction was quite interesting to say the least! People want me to make an entire series out of it, so I've agreed and am working on the second installment right now. I'll probably post it later, but in the meantime I realized how much fun I had fulfilling someone's wishes. Or, well, the wishes of a lot of someones. (Ignore me, I just took my pain meds and am in a weird mood.)

Comment to this post to request a fic! It can be ANYTHING you want -- any pairing, any fandom, any genre. My job is to write the fic you've requested and have it posted within a reasonable amount of time, say a week. Each post will be titled with "Fic requested by (name of person who requested it)". Depending on how successful this is, i.e. how many people comment, I may do this once a month. This is just an experiment to start.
