The banner says it all - I'm now an official NaNoWriMo participant for 2007! NaNo, as it's known, is an intiative to encourage people to write that novel that's always lurked inside them. They target people who say, "You know, I'm going to write a novel ... someday," and point out that there's no time like the present to get started. The standard goal is 50,000 words, and you're given word count graphs so you can chart your progress.
The banner above links to my NaNo profile (I'm PadmeKenobi85), so if you're doing NaNo as well, hop over and add me! And if you're not doing it, you should. XD I'll be using To Ignite the Stars as my novel, since I think it counts as one even though it's fanfiction and as such will never be published. It'll definitely go over 50,000 words, although I won't be using my pre-November counts towards it. Technically I can't, heh.
NaNo starts November 1 at midnight, so from then on what I write for TIS - which will hopefully be more than what I do ordinarily, so I can reach my goal - will be counted towards my NaNo word count, and you'll see daily word counts posted here. Actual TIS updates will continue to be posted, obviously, but they'll also be crossposted to the NaNo site.
So that's about it for now. I shall now simultaneously attempt to work on Chapter 13 of TIS and watch the hockey game. Both are equally depressing. (I've got to write some pretty sad scenes this chapter, and the dreaded Leafs are winning. *grumbles*)
